Watch One Man’s Heartfelt Proposal to His Girlfriend — and Her Daughter!

Ah, proposing marriage in the age of social media. Last year gave us so many proposal gems. There was the guy who hid the engagement ring inside a wooden necklace, his future fiancé unwittingly wearing it for a year before he popped the question. Then there was everyone’s favorite hippo, Fiona, photobombing a couple’s happy moment. And who can forget about all the concert showstoppers? (Remember J-Lo’s backup dancers? Or the couple at the Adele concert?) If over the top is your goal, there’s no shortage of viral leads for you to follow. But that’s not what this man had in mind. Grant Tribbett opted for heartfelt and simple.

One day, Grant Tribbett suggested that his unsuspecting girlfriend, Cassandra Reschar, and her daughter, Adrianna, accompany him on a walk through the woods. It was there that Tribbett dropped down to one knee and asked Reschar to marry him. It gets better: Knowing that Adrianna was the center of her mother’s world, he popped the question to the little girl, too.

“Adrianna, can I be your daddy?” he said. “To promise to love and protect you for the rest of your life?”

Tribbett even sealed his promise to little Adrianna with a heart-shaped necklace featuring her favorite colors. Reschar’s ring is no slouch, either.
