These Baby Names Are Endangered in 2017
Some parents go through a lot of work to find the perfect baby name. However, it turns out that some baby names might be a thing of the past.
BabyCenter, a pregnancy and parenting digital resource, just released 14 baby names that they think are “endangered” in 2017. These baby names were not used by any parents who are members of BabyCenter.
“Unlike an endangered animal, it’s easy to save an endangered baby name from extinction. All it takes is for a family to choose one of these names for their baby,” says Linda Murray, BabyCenter global editor-in-chief. “Many parents-to-be tell us they’re looking for a unique baby name. Well, look no further than our endangered names list. These names have become one-of-a-kind yet still have the ring of familiarity.”

Why do some baby names go out of style?
Many of these endangered baby names were common several years ago, but not any more. In the past, parents would often name their babies after relatives to ensure the survival of their name. Today, that is no longer the case. Many parents choose to name their babies after their favorite celebrity or something else odd (think Ivy, Apple, Blue, etc.).
Hopefully, some parent uses these names for their babies before they are forgotten. Would you choose one of these endangered baby names, or something else?
